An active fashion insider, Mr. Ellinger began his career in the men’s apparel industry.  Today, he draws on more than 40 years of diverse industry experience to manage MMG’s M&A transactions, restructuring, turnaround and crisis management work.  He also serves as a strategic adviser to numerous owners and CEOs of fashion and consumer products companies.

Mr. Ellinger’s broad expertise in the fashion industry includes sales and marketing, manufacturing and international sourcing, financial planning, corporate and trade finance, organizational development, corporate infrastructure and domestic and international licensing. He has been instrumental in building and evolving the business from its initial turnaround/restructuring emphasis to one of the pre-eminent full service M&A firms servicing the fashion and fashion-related consumer products sector. Since he co-founded MMG in 1989, Mr. Ellinger and the firm have been involved in more than 1,500 engagements, including hundreds of sale/purchase transactions and restructurings.

Prior to building MMG, Mr. Ellinger was President and CEO of Basco All American Sportswear; President of multiple divisions of Biderman Industries; a Founder and Partner in Alan Flusser Inc.; and a Corporate Vice President and Assistant to the Chairman of Intercontinental Apparel, a forerunner and leader in the men’s designer apparel business.

Mr. Ellinger is a passionate advocate of social responsibility. He was the Founder and Chairman of Fashion Delivers, a non-profit foundation which battled the effects of poverty and natural disaster by supporting hundreds of community-based social service agencies throughout the U.S. and around the world. Fashion Delivers raised more than $250 million in new products for many victims of natural disasters including Hurricanes Rita, Katrina and Sandy, the Japanese tsunami and the earthquake in Haiti. Recently, Fashion Delivers merged with Kids In Distressed Situations to become K.I.D.S/Fashion Delivers which has been renamed Delivering Good. Mr. Ellinger is Chairman of this impactful charity and combined the charities have distributed over $1 billion of donated products to serve the poor and disadvantaged worldwide.

Mr. Ellinger is a member of the AAFA Board of Directors, the former President of the Designer’s Collective and a former Executive Committee member of both the Men’s Fashion Association and the Fashion Roundtable. He has taught courses and lectured at fashion universities and has written numerous articles regarding the state of the apparel industry.  In his spare time, he was the Commodore of The Huguenot Yacht Club.

Mr. Ellinger received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Management from Hofstra University.
